An exchange student from Taiwan took part in the speech contest
Since last fall, the University of Nagano hosts exchange students from overseas partner institutions, and two students from Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan are enrolled for the fall semester of the 2024 academic year.
LI ZONG-YING, one of the exchange students, took part in the '31st Japanese Speech Contest by International Students' (sponsored by the Matsumoto Higashi Rotary Club), which was held on Friday, November 29, after passing the document screening.
On this day, 10 selected international students from universities and vocational schools in Nagano prefecture gave a speech and presented their thoughts on " DEI(Diversity, Equity, Inclusion）".
Li's speech theme was "Cultural Differences." He humorously discussed the differences between Japanese and Taiwanese cultures. As a result of the judging, he received a participation prize, which included a cash award and a commemorative gift.
After the speech contest, he had the opportunity to interact with international students from outside The University of Nagano, making it a very meaningful experience.
