United States of America
Study abroad location | Columbia, Missouri (University of Missouri, Columbia) |
I believe that the great experience I had at the city council in the US will be a starting point for my future.
Taishin Kadowaki, 3rd year, Department of Global Management Studies
I learned about Japanese government in the Public Management Course before traveling to the U.S. At the Columbia City Council, individual citizens exercised their rights by freely sharing their views. Unlike Japan—where things proceed according to determined scenarios—this system involves citizens and works to solve social issues, which made me think about what government really is.

Yuina Ichikawa, 3rd year, Department of Food and Health Sciences
The classes were very lively, and I gained English language skills before I knew it. My understanding of different cultures was deepened through the interactions with students from various countries and with my host family. The workshop by a Japanese woman working in New Zealand was so impressive as to change the course of my life.

My thinking was renewed at the Asian Development bank, where experts from many different countries work
