Student exchange program (Inbound)

The University of Nagano welcomes international exchange students from our partner universities. Students must be nominated by their home universities to participate in our exchange programme.
The Student Exchange Program offers the opportunity to study at the University of Nagano for 4 months (2 quarters) or 1 year (4 quarters). Accepted exchange students are enrolled as non-degree students and take Japanese language classes for international students as well as regular classes with the University of Nagano students. For accommodation, exchange students live in the Zozan Dormitory in the Gocho Campus, where they are expected to experience Japanese language and culture through dormitory life, and to interact with local residents in the neighborhood.

"Before coming to Japan, I was worried about whether I would be able to make friends. However, thanks to the “buddy” students and my roommates in the dormitory, I was able to adjust to life in Nagano very quickly. There are also many events on campus, so I made a lot of friends."
From Hebei University (China)

Studied at the Faculty of Global Management Studies for half a year
"I feel really happy that I studied at the University of Nagano. Although it was only for a short time, all the teachers and friends were very kind to me and I have fond memories of them. Most importantly, they changed my sense of values. Now I am trying my best to get into a graduate school in Japan."
