Entrant selection classification
The 2020 entrant selection classifications for the University of Nagano are general selection, principal recommendation, self-recommendation, and special selection (applying to working members of society, returnees, and privately-funded international students).

*1. An in-prefecture group has been created for principal recommendation and self-recommendation selection at around 20% of the whole capacity (240 entrants).
*2. Principal recommendations in the Department of Food and Health Sciences and Department of Child Development and Education of the Faculty of Health and Human Development are limited to high schools (including the latter course of secondary educational schools) in Nagano Prefecture.
*3. General selection (first term) for the Department of Global Management Studies of the Faculty of Global Management Studies is carried out via two methods, A, English and Mathematics (40 accepted), and B, English and Essays (40 accepted).
