Faculties and Departments

The University of Nagano consists of two faculties and three departments. Both faculties train up future leaders.
The Faculty of Global Management Studies has one department, the Department of Global Management Studies, which offers three courses, namely the Global Business Course, the Entrepreneurship Course, and the Public Management Course.
The Faculty of Health and Human Development has two departments: the Department of Food and Health Sciences and the Department of Child Development and Education.

Faculty of Global Management Studies

Students are trained to develop a global outlook with a keen sense of entrepreneurship, to go on and become business leaders capable of creating businesses which harness the resources and personnel of the local community, organizers of startups that will strive to resolve social or community issues, or community leaders who will propose and implement public services.

Faculty of Health and Human Development

The Faculty of Health and Human Development promotes study hand in hand with the community, focusing on valuable regional assets such as food to form the basis of health and longevity in Nagano Prefecture and the Shinshu model of natural childcare. The Department of Food and Health Sciences and the Department of Child Development and Education train leaders with global outlooks in their respective fields, the former preparing them to acquire Registered Dietician and Nutritionist (national exam), dietitian, and nutritionist teaching licenses and the latter nursery school and kindergarten teaching licenses.
